The Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Industrial Upgrading and Transformation Service Team– Central Regional Corp is located in the central region, also known as the golden longitudinal valley. The Traditional Industry Central Regional Corp’s leader, Benjamin B.C. Jan, who is also the General Manager at the Precision Machinery Research & Development Center, expressed that the idea of the Central Regional Corp is to integrate the power of 7 organizations to promote the development of the major industries’ products in the central region towards higher added value and to create new energy of growth for the industries through intellectualization, greening and cultural creativities.   The Industrial Upgrading and Transformation Service Team of the Ministry of Economic Affairs lists the promotion of “Controller” type products as an important category of the “Supplementary Key” that hopes to assist the development of differentiating intellectual services for machinery equipments along with the development of domestic machinery equipments. As stated by Vice Minister Shen of the Ministry of Economic Affairs: “In order to satisfy the market demand and improve the competitiveness of our industry, the machine tool industry must focus on the development of the control system, strengthen added value of intellectual software to promote industry infrastructure upgrade and transformation!”. Therefore, one of the main focuses for the machine tool industry is to develop independent machine tool control system for niche type products such as small high speed machining equipments, lathes or machining centers, gradually improving the independent research and development of domestic control system.   The Traditional Industry Central Regional Corp’s leader Benjamin B.C. Jan also expressed that the corp will also actively provide guidance and consultation services for industries such as bicycle, high polymer, shoes, packaging and boxing, automotive, water hardware and hand tools, organizing appropriate solutions that are tailored to the vendor’s specifications in the hopes to promote development for more traditional industries. The group looks forward to trigger and boost sustainable economic development in Taiwan with added values in order to face the challenges imposed by internationalization and the liberation of trades with different nations.
