Industrial Park to Counter Industrial Land Shortage(Source: MOEA)

1. In view of limited industrial land in urban areas, firms in urban industrial parks propose vertical development to increase more floor area for capital and factory expansions . In response to this space demand, the Ministry of Economic Affairs plans to lead urban industrial parks to vertical factory space by adopting floor area ratio incentives that is used in urbanization projects . 2. To qualify for floor area ratio incentives, businesses must meet the following requirements: a) are setting up new factories and expanding their capital with apparent improvement to the environment ,b) are transforming their manufacturing processes to intelligent automation and green production; c) unit of expansion should be at least one street block. 3. This program will be set up once consensus is reached with local authorities with respect to implementation approaches and related measures. Since this program is restricted to businesses with factory and capital expansion needs while providing employment opportunities and improving the environment, there should not be any concerns of land speculations.
