Industry, Academics and Research institutes work hand-in-hand to build top-grade carbon fiber reinforced composite car tire rims(Source: MOEA)

An R&D ally named “Carbon fiber reinforced Eco-friendly PU resin composites car rims” lead by Hocheng Philippines Co. has been working with Taiwan’s Huntsman chemical Co. and Sheng Peng Applied Materials Co. to reveals their latest accomplishment. This project is aimed at the development of advanced carbon fiber composite car tire rims, and is also a collaboration of resources of the research value chain from the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science & Technology, Plastic Industry Development Center, Automotive Research & Testing Center, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, SuperAlloy Industrial Co. and Hua-chuang Automobile Information Technical Center Co. Due to the development of the carbon fiber composite rims, high tech innovation and progress, coupled with a clear and complete R & D alliance role, from the raw materials and processing and manufacturing process to testing and validation are all well-defined, and the alliance successfully obtained A Program grants supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. On February 11, the HCG flagship store in Taipei signed a formal declaration to engage the high value-added manufacturing goal of making the world's first carbon fiber reinforced advanced composite rims via mass-production processes.
