President Ma Visits Hiwin Technologies Corp.(Source:MOEA)

President Ma Ying-Jeou and Vice Minister Jong-Chin Shen visited Hiwin Technologies Corp. in the Taichung City Precision Machinery Innovation Technology Park on November 8th. Hiwin is not only the largest manufacturer of precision machinery key components, but also ranks as the second largest supplier of liner transmission components in the world and received the 1st Taiwan Mittelstand Award by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2013. The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Yong-Tai Chuo, and the top executives received President Ma in person, and briefed on their newest R&D achievements and applications of the“Productivity 4.0” products. President Ma listened to Hiwin’s presentation on the future development and global deployment carefully and was impressed by Hiwin’s key efforts at developing ball screws, linear guideways, and industrial robotics related to “Productivity 4.0”. In terms of talent cultivation, Chairman Chuo works hard at facilitating industry-academia cooperation. He leads the enterprises of Taiwan Machine & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) to visit academia to build an opinion exchange platform between enterprises and academia for talent cultivation of Taiwan precision machinery. In addition, his endeavors to funding technical and vocational education really helps the professional talents to take roots and shorten the industry-academia gap. The main reasons that Hiwin can serve as the benchmark of Taiwan’s precision machinery industry are its long-term investment on talent cultivation and its complete strategy from basic components design to system integration as well as its core R&D competence and current high-quality products. Through innovation, Hiwin accumulates its know-how in developing key components of precision machinery industry in Taiwan, and extends its depth and width of products to various industries, such as electronic products, optoelectronic semiconductor, intelligent automation, energy saving and environmental protection, and medical technology etc. Meanwhile, Hiwin actively researches and develops intelligent key components to provide the total solution for global customers while work in concert with the of Taiwanese government’s“Productivity 4.0” policy.
