Statistics Summary Analysis (October 2015)(Source:MOEA)

According to the statistics of Investment Commission of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, 3,118 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$3,689,051,000 were approved from January to October 2015. This indicates an increase of 6.34% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 6.77% in FDI amount compared with the same period of 2014. With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 135 cases were approved with an amount of US$134,268,000 from January to October 2015. This indicates a decrease in the FDI amount (57.68%) compared with the same period of 2014. Aggregated from July 2009 to October 2015, 754 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$1,333,417,000. In terms of Taiwan’s outbound investment (except Mainland China), 378 projects were registered from January to October 2015 with a total amount of US$9,399,692,000 indicating a decrease of 5.74% in the number of cases but an increase of 40.42% in the amount as compared with the same period of 2014. As for Taiwan’s outward investment to Mainland China, 276 applications have been approved from January to October 2015, indicating a decrease of 17.61% compared with the same period of 2014. The approved investment amount is US$8,722,768,000, 11.43% more than the same period in 2014.
