Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs establishes Taiwan-Japan Financial Service Alliance to provide Taiwan-Japan industrial collaborations with comprehensiv assistance.(Source: MOEA)

The Taiwan-Japan Industrial Collaboration Promotion Office (TJPO) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs signed an MOU with CTBC BANK establishing the Taiwan-Japan Industrial Collaboration Financial Service Strategic Alliance at the Sheraton Grande Taipei Hotel on December 15, 2014. CEO Chang Chi-Yu of TJPO and Division Head Chung Mao Hsiao of CTBC BANK signed the MOU under the witness of Vice Minister Jong-Chin Shen of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Senior Advisor for Administration Liao Liou Yi of CTBC BANK, heralding a new era of financial service for Taiwan-Japan industrial collaboration and providing Japanese companies with comprehensive services through the financial platform. Vice Minister Shen said that TJPO is the main window for Taiwan-Japan industrial collaboration for assisting enterprises, medium and small companies, and local companies’ mutual cooperation. He also pointed out that it is important to connect 26 Japanese banks with CTBC BANK for a multiplier effect. In addition, Senior Liao said that CTBC Bank had signed MOU with multiple local Japanese banks in order to assist Japanese companies to create more matching opportunities in Taiwan. Under the framework of the MOU, the TJPO and CTBC BANK will set up a strategic alliance for expanding service areas, in which Japanese companies will receive financial services when their demands include investment, technological transfers, and business transactions in Taiwan. It is also expected to attract other financial, accounting, and law-related institutions to join the alliance for a better service environment for Taiwan-Japan collaboration.
