The Service Industry Team of Ministry of Economy Affairs cooperated with the Industrial Development Bureau on theof Taiwan Design Industry Soaring Plan to promote industry- academia cooperative plan. They invited 12 companies and institutions to develop the topics and then selected 52 teams and 107 students, who are to be cultivated as the new generation of creative talents for the design industry.
Twelve well-known enterprises and institutions were invited to participate, including Compal , Microsoft Taiwan , Roly International , Nova Design , Sanyang Mortor , HAITEC, ASUS, Tatung , Taiwan Sakura , Taiwan Samsung, the Taipei City Government and the Taiwan Design Center . The range of the artworks came from eleven topics such as household appliances, transportation, and public design.
The Bao Shelter, created by Microsoft and the design team from National Cheng Kung University, is a good example. In order to simplify the measurement of body temperature during women’s pregnancy, the new model of a cross-industry design solves the problem by built-in chip and software. The successful project is targeted as the new business model in the future.
In addition, to build a more advanced Taipei City, Taipei City Government worked together with many universities including Tunghai University, Chaoyang University of Technology, Chung Yuan Christian University, Ming Chuan University, and Shih Chien University and expected the students from those schools would have creative works on Wooden Light - Public Lights, Infinite Energy - Creative Playground E quipments, Transform Park Rainwater Recycling in the World Design Capital 2016.
The Taiwan Design Center will appeal to more industries for participation, and provide more opportunities for potential students to develop their creations. The pieces of creation will be exhibited at the World Trade Center from 1st May to 4th May.
