In order to reinforce the ability of the service industry in Taiwan to apply emerging technology and develop services that offer innovating experiences, as well as to compensate for the gap between the integration and application of emerging technologies in the service industry, the Department of Commerce, MOEA, has commissioned the Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) to implement the "Program to promote the commercial application of emerging technologies and experiential environments.” Furthermore, business guidance measures are also implemented, where themes based on different venue applications are devised with the objective of introducing high-tech services, in turn enhancing the benefits of innovative technological applications.
In 2014, the project assisted 5 businesses in introducing emerging technology services in order to improve the condition of the businesses and increase their competiveness. Staging Design Inc. (hereafter referred to as Staging) received assistance from this project to create the first digital tablet house browsing assistive service system in Asia, thereby resolving the problems of the home decoration and browsing process, such as it being labor and time-consuming, the difficulty of altering the style of the decoration after it is completed, the inability to make instant modifications to the design based on the customer’s requirements, differences in various objects and components, and the difficulty of cost estimation, etc. The iStaging system can also increase the chance of successfully closing the deal. The project has also attracted Sinyi Real Estate and numerous construction firms to forge strategic alliances with Staging in order to elevate their competitiveness and added value via the iStaging platform.
“iStaging” proposed by Staging Design Inc. received the gold award in the “Service Innovation Category” at the 2015 ECI Awards on April 11, 2015. As the most authoritative innovation award in the Cross-Strait e-commerce industry, more than 500 submissions were received in 2015 from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and USA, and “iStaging” stood out from numerous competitors to snatch 2 gold awards for Taiwan together with HyXen Technology, a Foxconn-invested firm. With assistance from the project, not only has Staging Design Inc. developed a consumer-oriented service, the system has also received special honors to garner glory for Taiwan.
