The 20TH Annual InnoServe Contest Nurturing Industrial Innovation and Bridging the Gap between Academia and Industry(Source:MOEA)

To promote ICT industry’s development and strengthen the cooperation between academia and industry, the Industrial Development Bureau at Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Department of Information and Technology Education at Ministry of Education, and the Chinese Society of Information Management jointly held the 20th annual InnoServe Contest in 2015 at the National Taiwan University Sports Center on October 31. On that day, Wu Dun Yi, Taiwan’s vice president, was invited to the opening ceremony as a distinguished guest. Histocially, the contest has had a total of 5,181 collegiate teams and more than 3 million teachers and students participating. This year, a total of 4,500 people, from 92 colleges and universities forming 745 teams, have competed in the contest. Also, 122 representatives from industry, government, academia and research institutions were invited to serve as judges. This year, many iconic businesses have set up categories to provide an innovative and creative stage for teams to perform as usual. The contest has also set up the Asia-Pacific and Cross-Strait categories, inviting international teams to share experiences. Moreover, the contest organizes talent matching sessions for ICT industry to acquire the right talents which makes the contest a mutually beneficial platform. The purpose of the contest is to closely integrate the experiences of academic research and practical experience and assist ICT service providers to obtain creative development resources and talents to improve the quality and quantity of the ICT services sector. Moreover, the contest enhances the competitiveness and exposure of the ICT services industry by sharing innovative experience internationally. The contest has become an annual event for ICT related academia and ICT industry and has been the most representative and successful ICT contest.
