Statistics Summary Analysis (November 2015)(Source:MOEA)

According to the statistics of Investment Commission of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, 3,412 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$4,128,173,000 were approved from January to November 2015. This indicates an increase of 5.86% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 6.88% in FDI amount compared with the same period of 2014. With regard to inward investment from Mainland China, 152 cases were approved with an amount of US$143,429,000 from January to November 2015. This indicates a decrease in the FDI amount (56.26%) compared with the same period of 2014. Aggregated from July 2009 to November 2015, 771 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$1,342,578,000. In terms of Taiwan’s outbound investment (except Mainland China), 416 projects were registered from January to November 2015 with a total amount of US$9,630,659,000 indicating a decrease of 6.94% in the number of cases but an increase of 41.10% in the amount as compared with the same period of 2014. As for Taiwan’s outward investment to Mainland China, 289 applications have been approved from January to November 2015, indicating a decrease of 19.72% compared with the same period of 2014. The approved investment amount is US$9,404,425,000, 9.18% more than the same period in 2014.
