Mobileheroes Unveils Top Winners, Young Generation Revolutionizes ICT Industry with Innovative Smart City, IoT, SDN, and 4G/B4G Antenna Design(Source:MOEA)

Mobileheroes, also known as the ICT Oscars in Taiwan, unveiled its award ceremony on December 16, 2015 at the TAF Innovation Base. Categories of this year’s competition included Smart City Applications; MediaTek, IoT, and Wearables; Software-defined Networking (SDN); and 4G/B4G Smart Handheld Antenna Design. Mobileheroes has attracted not only students, but also start-up teams and developers to join the competition. In addition, this year also marked the first time for Mobileheroes in history to have finalists as young as elementary students, indicating that ICT education in Taiwan has taken root in the younger generation. Through Mobileheroes, exciting innovations are recognized every year. Many creative ideas are realized through the competition and then further introduced into the industry. For example, the top winner for Smart City Applications won the first prize with a product that has great market potential, the ChaseWind Cycling Glasses. The transparent display for cyclists connects and displays information from various sensors via AR virtual image. Meanwhile, the runner-up for MediaTek, IoT, and Wearables impressed the judges with Easy Sous-vide which incorporates IoT, applications, and social networking platform to develop a cuisine sous vide device that is easy to use. Users can also get instant updates regarding the cooking progress via cell phone. It is because of these great talents discovered from the competition over the years, that Mobileheroes continues to receive tremendous support from the telecommunications industry. For this year’s competition, the industrial sponsors included MediaTek, ASUS, Bluetooth SIG, Chunghwa Telecom, Asia Pacific Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Advantech, FarEasTone Telecom, hTC, Auden Techno, KKBOX, PAPAGO, Qualcomm, TUTK, Realtek, and Compal, etc.
