A delegation of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars called on Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Shih-Chao Cho on March, 16, 2016. The delegation included Former U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John D. Negroponte, who served in many top government posts during his career, including as U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on a range of issues, including the current state of the U.S. and Taiwan economies, as well as Taiwan 's bid to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
