In order to help southern industrial development, Director General Wu of the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Industrial Development Bureau led an industrial upgrading group and related members to Kaohsiung to hold an executive meeting on April 1. During the meeting, Wu communicated with representatives of the local government and public associations about the future of southern industries. Wu and the group also visited Aritex, the Argo Yacht Club, and NanE Design to see how these companies work. Aritex is currently the largest yacht maker in Asia, and the world's fifth top yacht hardware brand. Over 80% of the world’s top 100 large yachts are specified using Aritex products. The Argo Yacht Club is the first yacht club in Taiwan, demonstrating the maturity of the yacht industry, and it has developed a life aesthetic charm in the city. The Argo Yacht Club not only lets foreign countries better understand the strengths of the yacht industry, it also accelerates the marketing of MIT yachts. NanE Design is actively involved in new design concepts, highly interactive science and technology development. Their products are well-known and seen especially in the children's museum, 3D and 4D theaters, a 6-axis motion platform and in interactive multimedia. In the meeting, the Southern sub-group and Innovating sub-group had a short briefing about their practices and promoting achievement. They also invited the company behind the "love locks" series, the Crown Lock, to share its experiences in upgrading.
