IDB Joins Forces with Japanese Partners to Capture Market Opportunity in Health Service Industry(Source:MOEA)

The International Forum on Smart Health 2016 ─ Joining Forces with Japanese Strategic Partners to Capture Market Opportunities in Smart Health Industry, organized by Industrial Technology Research Institute and sponsored by Industrial Development Bureau at Ministry of Economic Affairs, was held at NTUH International Convention Center in Taipei. The Forum invited Japanese healthcare experts from the government, industry, and academia to share their experience in promoting smart healthcare industry, including Yoshihide Esaki from Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, who elaborated on the issues, challenges, and policy outlook on the development of smart healthcare industry in Japan; Eiko Yamada from Mitsubishi Research Institute, who shared experience and successful cases in promoting next-generation healthcare industry in Japan; Hiroshi Misawa from the Japan Federation of Medical Devices Associations, exploring how to build the healthcare industry in an aging society as well as the cooperation opportunities between Japan and Taiwan; Masayuki Izumi from a smart health benchmarking enterprise – docomo Healthcare Co. Ltd. and Toshimasa Baba from the innovative medical and healthcare advisory service company MRT Inc., sharing their smart health service model and practice. The experiences, success cases and challenges shared by the healthcare experts from Japan will be an important reference for Taiwan. Under the leadership of Industrial Development Bureau and joint effort of Commerce Development Research Institute and Industrial Technology Research Institute, we expect a stronger cross-industry cooperation as well as better ICT technology and healthcare services integration to build a health service industry ecosystem and health service promotion model in Taiwan. Furthermore, we look forward to joining forces with Japanese strategic partners to capture global market opportunities in health industry.
