To encourage Taiwanese design students to meet the practical requirements of the industries and select the topics of their graduation projects that conform to industrial trends, the Service Industry Corp of Ministry of Economic Affairs has been inviting enterprises from different industries to join the Industry-academia Cooperation and Young Designers' Exhibition. The Industry-academia Cooperation provides the topics of graduation projects and offers technical and financial assistance. It has cultivated innovative design talents who are able to provide creative design concepts to the interested enterprises and meeting the needs of industries.
Ministry of Economic Affairs has been promoting the Industry-academia Cooperation and Young Designers' Exhibition since 2014. It invited 11 enthusiastic companies and organizations to join the partnership, including Compal Electronics, Microsoft, Dada International (rendering phonetic value), Sanyang Motor, Nova Design, Hua-chuang Automobile Information Technical Center, Taiwan Carol Electronics, Apex Medical, MiTAC-SYNNEX Group, Simbalion and Taiwan Design Center in 2015. The outcomes involve the fields of information and communication technologies, transportations, medical products, electronic sound equipment, and space design, etc. After the enterprises’ one-year assistance, the spectacular achievements were presented in the Young Designers' Exhibition and became the must-see works in the exhibition for interested enterprises.
In its coming third year, the 2016-2017 Industry-academia Cooperation and Young Designers' Exhibition has already invited 11 enthusiastic enterprises and organizations to join this project.
