"Panasonic Tainan smart low-carbon demonstration home" was unveiled on June 7 as the first empirical experiment zero-emission carbon home in Taiwan. Deputy Mayor Wu Zong Wing of Tainan, Division Chief YANG Zhiqing of Industrial Development Bureau, CEO Lyu Zhengqin of Taiwan-Japan Industrial Cooperation Promotion Office (TJPO), Chief Representative Osawa of Panasonic China Northeast Asia, and Taiwan Matsushita Electric (Panasonic) attended the opening ceremony to mark a new chapter for green energy industry cooperation between Taiwan and Japan. Under the active promotion of TJPO, in 2015,Panasonic of Japan presented to the Tainan Municipal Government a smart low-carbon livable city proposal using the "Fujisawa Sustainable Urban Development (SST/Sustainable Smart Town)" as blue print. This proposal led to the cooperation on "Panasonic Tainan smart low carbon demonstration home" between Panasonic and Tainan Municipal Government, and helped to enhance the depth and breadth of smart housing development. The IDB looks forward to future establishment of smart housing-related industrial supply chain between Taiwan and Japan. To achieve the goals of "generating energy," "preserving energy," and "conserving energy," "Panasonic Tainan smart low-carbon demonstration home" was tested to prove Panasonic’s smart energy-saving technology solution being efficient in south Taiwan, especially in using energy management, as well as settings to improve air quality and lightings, resulting in the coexistence of energy usage and sustaining energy cycle. At present, Taiwan is actively developing its green energy industry. In his opening speech, Division Chief Yang Zhiqingin of IDB stated, "Panasonic Tainan smart low-carbon demonstration home" is the realization of combining science and technology to achieve low-carbon energy to solve the energy issue in Taiwan. Furthermore, this cooperation between Taiwan and Japan in setting up a demonstration home allows Taiwan to accumulate industrial vigor for the construction of smart cities, while at the same time provides Taiwan the opportunities to export its success to the international market.
