Draft Amendment of the Guideline on Energy Development is Open for Public Opinions Online Platform and Regional Meetings are Available for Public Participation(Source:MOEA)

During September 12-26, 2016, Draft Amendment of the Guideline on Energy Development is open for public opinions on the Public Policy Participation Network Platform, National Development Council. Four regional meetings were held since September 19, 2016 in order to invite public participation and discussions as reference for the amendment. As Bureau of Energy (BOE) indicated, in response to the domestic and international energy development and changes in political situations, the government has launched energy transformation and electric industry reform, meanwhile the government has promoted energy conservation, energy exploration, energy storage, and smart systems integration. Draft Amendment of the Guideline on Energy Development is elaborated from the perspectives of energy security, green economy, environmental sustainability and social justice, and is considered as the essential policy guideline and regulation to achieve national energy development target. In order to present the planning content of the Guideline on Energy Development and solicit opinions, regional meetings were hosted by the BOE in the following dates and counties: September 19, 2016 in Kaohsiung, September 21, 2016 in Hualien, September 23, 2016 in Taichung and September 26 in Taipei. Registry for the meetings has begun.
