BSMI holds the 17th National Standardization Award BSMI, MOEA October 14, 2016(Source:MOEA)

The Bureau of Standards, Metrology & Inspection (BSMI) holds the "National Standardization Award" every year to encourage the use of standard operation procedures to increase international competitiveness. On October 14, Winners of the 17th National Standardization Award were announced at the award ceremony after preliminary, secondary and final reviews. There are eight award winners across four categories. HIWIN TECHNOLOGIES CORP., Ta Liang Technology Co., Ltd., Sino Environmental Services Corp. and YULON MOTOR CO., LTD. received the Corporate Standardization Award. Taiwan Welding Society was awarded the Organization Standardization Award. Computational Intelligence Technology Center, Industrial Technology Research Institute and Taiwan Textile Research Institute received the Standardization Visionary Award. Mr. Weiguang Fu was awarded the Standardization Achievement Award. Certificates were presented by BSMI Director-General Ming-Jong Liou at the award ceremony. Consumers' Foundation Chair Yun Lu, Chinese Association for Industrial Technology Advancement Director Sin-Yan Kao and CNS Certification Mark Association Director Chih-Ching Chao also attended the award ceremony. Honorary awards were given to individuals with more than 30 years of contribution in the standardization sector, manufacturers that have used the CNS certification mark for more than 50 years, manufacturers that have contributed to the promotion of the CNS mark and manufacturers that have excelled in an online voting campaign called "Good Brand, New Story". The theme for World Standards Day 2016 is "Standards Build Trust." Standards connect us with reliable modes of communication, codes of practice and trusted frameworks for cooperation and are the foundation for mutually beneficial trade. A product or service conforming to standard is imbued with a trusted symbol of quality, safety or compatibility. In the award ceremony, Mr. Yao-Dong Wang of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited, a specialist on Internet of Things, delivered a speech on "The Market Trend of Internet of Things." Winners of the Standardization Award also shared their experience of standardization. The event is expected to enhance the public's understanding of standardization.
