MOEA’s Traditional Industry Southern Corps Assists Ying Ming Industry Co., Ltd. in Technical Upgrade to asFastener Supplier(Source:MOEA)

The Traditional Industry Southern Corps of the Ministry of Economic Affairs collaborated with the Metal Industrial Research Development Centre to assist Ying Ming Industry Co., Ltd. to develop moulds and processing technologies for high-strength screws used in auto engines. The Centre's modification technologies for key materials have succeeded in increasing screw and nut strength; high-tension alloy steel screws with tension three times higher than general low carbon steel have been developed to meet the demand of domestic auto manufacturers. Ying Ming Industry Co., Ltd., based in Kaohsiung’s Hunei Industrial Zone, , was established 30 years ago with capital of NTD$ 0.49 billion and a staff of 330 employees. It has been a fastener supplier for Mitsubishi Motors and Ford TW, and leads the domestic high-strength fastener market. As for the global market, the earnings from abroad account for 80% of the company's revenue, with clients like business giants Landrover, Jaguar, etc. The company has also been certified by AS9100. The screw and nut industry is one of the major flagship industries in Taiwan. Its export value amounted to NTD$ 126 billion in 2016, ranking third globally, and production reached 1.56 million tons, ranked as number two in the world. In the face of ever-changing market trends and price competition from newly-emerging nations, Ying Ming copes by emphasizing innovative R&D and employee education. In addition, it collaborates with Gloria Material Technology Corp., New Best Wire Industrial Co., Ltd., and S-Tech Corp. to develop high-temperature alloy wires that mainly works on fastener forging and heat treatment. It also works with the Metal Industrial Research Development Centre and universities for industry-government-academia cooperation projects, while invests a myriad of resources in talent cultivation by employing a large number of graduates, or holds employee recruitment events at university campuses. For talent retention, General Manager Liu, in particular, places emphasis on the design of the new factory to improve the level of comfort in workplace environment according to the standard of high-tech facilities.
