EPZA endeavors to promote new ARVR base in southern Taiwan, leading the new era of somatosensory technology (FunTech) economy.(Source:MOEA)

The government's "Asian Silicon Valley" plan mainly promotes research and development of internet of things (IoT) and strengthens the ecosystem of innovative startups. Responding to the aim of government's Asian Silicon valley policy, the Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) built the first new ARVR base in Kaohsiung Software Park (KSP) in southern Taiwan. And the EPZA held an inauguration ceremony on 13th June 2017. Also attending the inauguration ceremony were Legislators Bi-Ling Kuan and Ruei-Long Lai, Chairperson of VR/AR FunTech Industry-Academia R&D Alliance also President of Star-World International Corp. Jun-Bo Wang, Vice Chairperson of VR/AR FunTech Industry-Academia R&D Alliance also Principal of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Qian Dai, Director of Southern Industry Service Division of Institute for Information Industry Liang-Sen Lian, and other representatives coming from industries, colleges, and R&D institutes. All attendees showed high affirmation and support for somatosensory industries developed by KSP.
