＜p＞According to the statistics of Investment Commission of the Ministry of Economic Affairs,1,853 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total amount of US$4,407,201,000 were approved from January to July 2017. This indicates a decrease of 4.88% in the number of cases, and a decrease of 27.39% in FDI amount compared with the same period of 2016.＜br /＞
With regard to inward investment from Mainland China,79 cases were approved with an amount of US$157,802,000 from January to July 2017. This indicates decrease in the FDI amount 4.72 % compared with the same period of 2016. Aggregated from July 2009 to July 2017, 1,026 cases were approved with a total investment amount added up to US$1,848,646,000.＜br /＞
In terms of Taiwan’s outbound investment (except Mainland China), 269 projects were registered from January to July 2017 with a total amount of US$5,834,548,000 indicating a decrease of 6.27% in the number of cases，and a decrease of 31.55% in the amount as compared with the same period of 2016.＜br /＞
As for Taiwan’s outward investment to Mainland China, 289 applications have been approved from January to July 2017, indicating an increase of 112.5% compared with the same period of 2016. The approved investment amount is US$5,107,636,000，12.21% less than the same period in 2016.＜/p＞
