WCIT 2017 Digital Dream Expo at Exhibition Hall 1, Taipei World Trade Center, Sept. 10-13(Source:MOEA)

The 21st World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2017) will begin on September 10 and the official opening ceremony will be held the next day at Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). WCIT is the most influential technology congress in the world, with political leaders and industry representatives gathering to discuss digital development trend of the next generation. Acting Economic Minister Shen Jong-Chin stated that the Expo took a year to plan the nearly 700 new tech booths. The Expo will have a Thematic Pavilion showcasing the history of IT industry, a Good Beginning Pavilion showcasing current smart living, and a Digital Dream Pavilion showcasing future innovative technologies. WITSA Chairperson Chiu Yueh-Hsiang pointed out that Bill Gates of Microsoft attended WCIT in 2000 when Taiwan first hosted the event. This year, despite more external and diplomatic challenges, our industry and government worked together to host this event once more, successfully invited iconic tech elites and policy influencers to Taiwan to share the trend of the latest technologies. The objective of the event is to lead global ICT industry with brand new concepts and to facilitate collaboration between all parties. WCIT 2017 will have nearly 30 iconic and influential local ICT leaders and experts to share the progression of Taiwan’s information communication industry with the younger generation. The goal is to learn from the past and prosper in the future. Furthermore, the significance of the event is to share these experiences with other countries, especially the New Southbound states to export Taiwan’s model and prosper as a whole.
