The 2017 National Robotics Competition combined the 2017 Intelligent Robotics Competition and the 10th HIWIN Robot-arm Competition. The winners were announced on September 8th 2017. During the competition, 16 teams made it to the finals. All of the participants worked hard and did a remarkable job on their project. Ultimately, Team Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering of Tamkang University won the championship. The main theme of the 2017 Intelligent Robotics Competition was smart mechanized applications for industrial robots, held by the MOEAIDB. The students must solve the needs and problems of manufacturing by using vision and sensor technology to improve industrial robots. The performance of the robotics competition shows the value of economized manpower and the improvement of efficiency. We hope to boost students' creativity, to encourage talented people and promote industry-academic cooperation through the competition. This year, nine companies sponsored key robot components for students in the competition. In the future, the theme of the 2017 Intelligent Robotics Competition will continue to keep up with the industry’s needs. This competition encourages creative solutions and talented people, promoting the development of the robotics industry in Taiwan.
